It refers to the ability to understand things effectively and the perception of wit or the sense of sight, smell or hearing. This sculpture is carved in volcanic stone and is composed of precise lines and basic geometric shapes that, in its composition, can refer to the human figure. Reyes, with this work, explored what can arise from the mixture of ancestral sculptural practices with modernism. One can also assume he brought into play the idea of how form can be the content, creating an object whose meaning and value derive more from physical qualities, such as material, touch, shape, than from their imaginative characteristics. A perspective upon materials inherited from pre-Columbian artisans. (Although it is impossible not to wonder about its similitude with a human head, and its eternal will to understand the universe, as the circles and triangle also recall temples and celestial bodies.) This piece definitely conveys Reyes' consideration upon the sense of monumentality that smaller scale sculptures can have. And the aura of permanence that sculptures of this type convey, as Pedro mentions: "sculptures carved into stone win their place in time. They win their right to exist forever."Exhibitions
